Your Company Newsletter - Part 2: Generating More Sales

In our last blog, we talked about why newsletters are effective in business. In part 2 of our series on newsletters, we will discuss how to generate more sales with your company's newsletter. By careful planning and organization, and having your local printing company at the Lake of the Ozarks create a professional looking newsletter, you can enhance your company's reputation as an industry leader. Smart Postal Centers can make your newsletter catch the attention of your customers. Here are some tips to help make your customer newsletter more effective at generating sales:

Choose Your Articles Carefully

Keep each article focused on your goal. Every article should be used to generate results. Try to avoid "space-filler" articles that have nothing to do with your company's area of expertise, including recipes or famous quotations. Some ideas to generate business are:

  • Introduce a new product and its benefits to prompt sales.
  • Profile one of your best customers, showing readers new ways to use your company’s products and services.
  • Highlighting the impressive qualifications and accomplishments of key employees.
  • Discuss a hot industry trend to draw in new readers who comprise your target market.

Offer Free Helpful Tips

To attract more readers and potential customers, feature articles that give free tips and helpful information related to your company's area of expertise. These tips can should be helpful to readers regardless if they do business with you. By offering "free tips" in your company's newsletter, you are demonstrating you are an industry expert concerned with helping out customers.

Add Customer Testimonials

Customer testimonials can make a big impact on readers and be extremely persuasive to potential clients. Testimonials can be used in a few different ways. A very effective way is to feature a story on a very satisfied client. Interview the customer and quote the person as to how beneficial your product or service was to him or her. Include how helpful your employees were and if the customer would recommend your company to others. Another way to utilize customer testimonials is to dedicate a section in your newsletter where you can reprint complimentary customer letters that your company has received. If you would like to generate more customer testimonials, try sending out a feedback form to customers who purchase from you. Just be sure to ask if you can use their comments for promotional purposes. Some questions you might ask:

  • How satisfied are you with the product you ordered?
  • Please describe the level of customer service you received.
  • How can we improve the product or service that you received?

Smart Postal Centers Will Print a Professional Newsletter For Your Company

Newsletters can be used to attract new customers, increase repeat business from existing clients, and improve customer communications. Your Company Newsletter - Part 1: Why They Are Effective

Creating a newsletter that is full of helpful, free information and tips can be a valuable marketing tool for businesses. It is a great way to advertise new products or services by providing useful, informative articles. A printing company at the Lake of the Ozarks can turn your company's information, reviews, tips, and announcements into a newsletter that can keep your customers' interest in every issue. Today, with so much demanding the attention of everyone, Smart Postal Centers can help make your newsletter stand out. Here are some reasons your business should consider a company newsletter:

Newsletters Can Be More Effective Than Ads

A newsletter can attract new customers if planned carefully and it looks professional. A Lake of the Ozarks printing company can help you achieve this. Consider the ways newsletters might be more effective than ads:

  • Newsletters have four times the readership of traditional ads. (Source: Dartnell & Co.)
  • A newsletter allows you to give more detail about specific products and services. This is important if you are trying to educate a consumer. An ad is limited to space and is surrounded by competing ads and articles.
  • Newsletters can have a longer shelf life than an ad. You may receive a newsletter in the mail and save the article or share with someone else who may be interested. Ads are rarely kept.

Generate Sales Leads By Promoting Free Subscriptions to Your Newsletter

An easy way to generate free sales leads is to add a call of action to the bottom of your newsletter to encourage customers to get a free subscription of your newsletter by providing their contact information. Subscribers already have interest in your product or service and should make excellent qualified sales leads.

Maximizing Your Newsletter's Exposure Can Maximize Its Results

Printing a newsletter at the Lake of the Ozarks is an investment and takes time. If you are putting the effort in, you will want to get the maximum exposure from it. Here are some suggestions:

  • Mail your newsletter to all former and current customers. Don't forget potential clients who may have requested information from you in the past, but haven't purchased yet.
  • Give salespeople copies of the newsletter to hand out when they are out working with potential customers. Offering a free newsletter full of valuable information and tips can be a great conversation starter for salespeople who make cold calls.
  • Send newsletters to all potential clients who may have interest in certain articles. If a restaurant is saving hundreds of dollars because of a new point-of-sale system your company offers, send a copy of the newsletter to all other restaurants in your area.
  • Place a stack of newsletters at your place of business, available to customers when they visit. This may include your lobby, waiting room, retail store, or show room.
  • Hand out your company's newsletter at trade shows and exhibition booths.

Smart Postal Centers Can Make Your Newsletters Stand Out

By planning and proper placement of your newsletters, you can increase sales leads and awareness of your products and services. Smart Postal Centers can help you manage all aspects of your company's newsletter, from graphics and sizing to printing and mailing. In next week's blog, we will go into further depth on the type of information to include in your newsletter to become an industry leader and to effectively generate more sales.
